Approaches to Laser Modalities
Is the treatment painful?
This is based on individual’s pain tolerance and location of the pigmented lesion(s). Most patients are able to tolerate the lasers sessions without much discomfort. The laser feels like tiny warm pricks on the skin.
Are there any side effects?
A small portion of patients can experience a pinkish flush or mild itchiness after the laser. This goes away within a few hours.
Is there any downtime?
You can resume daily activities immediately but should avoid prolonged sun exposure for a week. Temporary darkening of pigmentation may occur before fading, which is normal. Creams may be prescribed if needed.
How many sessions are required?
Depending on condition and the type of pigmentation, number of treatments can vary.
A few factors influence the outcome of the treatment; nature of pigmentation, skin type, skin health, hormones, sun exposure, acne, etc.
Is the treatment painful?
Minimal discomfort may occur, but Astute offers a built-in cooling system that helps to improve tolerance.
Numbing cream is not necessary for this procedure as the laser settings can be adjusted based on your comfort level.
Is there any downtime?
Mild redness may occur but usually fades within hours. Avoid sun exposure before and after treatment to maximize results.
Am I suitable for this treatment?
To determine suitability for this laser treatment, or the Dual Combo Laser, a consultation will be required for our doctors to assess and determine if suitability is recommended.
Generally, it is effective for a wide range of skin types and concerns, including acne, pigmentation and skin texture.
Are there any side effects?
The treatment may cause temporary redness, swelling, or dryness, but these effects typically subside within a few hours. Following post-care instructions can help minimise side effects.
